KidoChoice Editorial Policy
KidoChoice is an educational resource about packaged foods children eat and drink. It does not diagnose conditions or provide individualized medical advice, and it does not replace care from your pediatrician or another qualified clinician.
How recommendations are produced
Product recommendations combine age-specific pediatric nutrition guidance, label data for the exact product, ingredient-level evidence from our central evidence profiles, and regulatory and professional pediatric guidance. Recommendations consider a child's age, how often a product like this is typically eaten, and dose and realistic exposure when relevant.
How we treat evidence
An association reported in a study is not treated as established causation. Dose and exposure route matter: findings at experimental doses far above a serving of food are not automatically applied to that serving. When the evidence is uncertain or incomplete, we state that plainly rather than rounding it to a warning.
When we decline to recommend
Products without adequate verified label data do not receive a recommendation. If we cannot identify the exact product, or its label information is incomplete or internally inconsistent, the page says so instead of guessing.
Corrections and updates
Content is reviewed and updated as the underlying evidence and product labels change. If you spot an error, send it to support@kidochoice.com and we will review it.
