KidoChoice Parent Beta Participation Agreement

Version 2026-09-15-v1 ยท Last updated September 15, 2026

1. What this is

This agreement applies to the compensated KidoChoice Parent Beta. Taking part is voluntary product and usability testing โ€” it is not medical care. KidoChoice guidance is educational. It does not diagnose conditions and does not replace advice from your child's clinician.

2. Who can take part

To join the beta you confirm that you:

  • are 18 or older;
  • are the parent or caregiver of at least one child;
  • will claim only one beta reward per person and household.

No purchase is necessary. The beta is limited to 20 participants.

3. What you will do

  • Scan 5 different packaged-food barcodes (you can use foods you already have at home).
  • Read the age-specific KidoChoice guidance for each product.
  • Answer the two short questions shown after each product.
  • Complete the short final survey.

A product counts toward your 5 only when KidoChoice identifies the product, shows a recommendation, you confirm the product shown is the one you scanned, and you submit the required feedback. The same barcode cannot count twice for you. Other parents in the beta may legitimately test the same products โ€” only your own five barcodes need to be different from each other.

4. Compensation

After you complete every requirement, and your submission passes a brief manual eligibility and duplicate review, you receive a $10 digital reward. Compensation is for completing the beta โ€” not for giving positive feedback. Honest criticism is welcome and never affects your reward.

Incomplete, duplicate, fraudulent or materially ineligible submissions may not receive a reward. To deliver the reward, a digital reward provider may receive your verified email address for that purpose only; that provider's own privacy terms may also apply.

5. Participation is voluntary

You can stop at any time, for any reason. If you stop before completing all requirements, you do not qualify for the $10 reward.

6. What beta data we store

Your compensated beta record can include:

  • your verified email address and your beta participant ID;
  • the barcodes and products you scan, and the outcome of each scan;
  • your answers after each product, plus any optional comment you write;
  • your final survey answers, including free-text answers;
  • timestamps, and your completion and reward status;
  • two privacy-conscious duplicate-review signals: a random browser/device token stored only as a hash, and a coarse network signal stored only as a hash. Your raw IP address is not stored in your beta record.

Because these records are tied to your verified email and participant account, the compensated beta data is not anonymous. We do not describe it as anonymous.

7. Your child's information

Your child's profile stays on your own device. The compensated beta records do not store your child's name, date of birth, medical records, or the full child profile. When it is needed to understand a result, the age band and recommendation context can be stored alongside a product test.

8. How we use beta data and your feedback

We use beta data to:

  • administer the beta and send rewards;
  • prevent duplicate rewards;
  • understand how well products are recognised and how useful recommendations are;
  • improve KidoChoice;
  • analyse aggregated or de-identified beta results.

We will not use your name, quotes, photos, testimonials or reviews in advertising or public marketing without asking you separately for explicit permission. Your feedback may be used to improve the product without additional compensation.

9. Keeping records and privacy

Beta records are kept as long as reasonably necessary to administer the beta, analyse results, prevent duplicate rewards, and meet legal and accounting needs. More detail is in the Parent Beta Privacy notice. For any privacy or beta question, email support@kidochoice.com.

10. What KidoChoice cannot do yet

Not every barcode will be recognised, and some products do not have enough verified label information for a recommendation. That is expected during the beta and is useful to us: failed and not-found scan attempts may be kept for beta analysis.

11. Agreeing electronically

Ticking the agreement box and clicking Join the compensated beta means you agree electronically to this version of the agreement. KidoChoice stores the agreement version and the time you accepted it.

12. Contact

Questions? Email support@kidochoice.com. For urgent medical concerns, please contact your child's clinician instead.
